Band 6+: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? All students should be required to study, art and music is secondary school.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Creative subjects like art and music are considered to be compulsory subjects for students in secondary school. In my point of view, I totally agree with this statement, because studying art and music not only creating more opportunities for students to find their talents and favorites but also making the study curriculum less stresses.

Initially, art and music should be forced to be official subjects at school because it helps students to find what they are good at. Students at teenage age are the golden time to explore which fields they have a knack for and to develop themselves in what they are talented in. This is due to the fact that at this age, their bodies and their brains are experienced an important process, helping them improving their creativity and their gifted abilities more easier than any else time in their life. For example, back in my secondary school, there used to be various competitions related to art and music are organized for students, and a large number of talents were found after those competitions. Art and music should be required to study to create more chances for students finding their talents and developing it.

Secondary schools should add art and music as obliged subjects in order to lessen the stresses in study curriculum. There are already lots of logic and hard subjects like science, math, physics, chemistry that students have to learn. Art and music are creative and talent-oriented subjects that require to use creativeness and talents rather than calculating skills, adding those two to the student’s study schedule could make the educational program less hard and boring. Major of the students in my old school claimed that they preferred art and music lessons rather than any other subjects, and some of them said that they feel happy and relaxed while studying, they even got excited before the periods started. It is necessary for educationalists to count art and music as compulsory subjects in the study program to make the curriculum less hard and boring.

In conclusion, I strongly agree that art and music should be obliged in secondary school. Not only because it could help students identify their talents and develop them but also reducing the hard and stresses of the study program.
