In the contemporary era, an increasing concern for many people around the world is environmental pollution. Some experts suggest that it has become extremely challenging and urgently in need of an international approach rather than an individual level. I firmly concur with this statement and in this essay I will give some argument in favor of my opinion.
To begin with, the key factors of the environmental problems are rapid industrialization and globalization. Many developing countries are now becoming industrialized and a massive amount of goods are transported across the world with excessive packaging. Therefore, this is the problem of the whole earth and cannot be controlled by a nation alone. For this reason a policy on the reduction of pollution needs to be agreed upon at the international summit. For example, The Paris agreement worked to limit the green house gasses. Furthermore, tackling this problem is financial burden, many developing countries may not make the effort to take steps by themselves.
On the other hand, without national approaches, it is not plausible to prevent environmental pollution. Every country should improve their transportation system. For instance, the government should introduce laws to limit owning personal vehicles and impose green tax on drivers and airplane companies. It is also important to promote recycling by the local authorities. We shoulduse long lasting commodities and circumvent overpackaged products.
In conclusion, I would reiterate that although it is imperative to take individual and national approaches to mitigate global warming and environmental pollution, it is now immensely necessary to preserve our planet on a global scale.
