Every human has the right to use water. This is why everyone should have free access to water. In this essay, I will discuss why I disagree with this statement.
First of all, I would like to mention that people do not use water responsibly. Despite that, the price of water is not cheap. For example, some people still haven’t learned yet that they should close the tap while they are brushing their teeth, or another example when individuals leave the shower running while they are shampooing their hair. These habits clearly show that many people do not realize how important it is to save water in their daily lives, even when they already pay for it.
So free water would only increase that kind of situations, which would lead to horrible consequences. One of these consequences is a water deficit. Scientists have already warned us that the int of freshwater on our planet starts to ease. Therefore,providing free access to water for everyone would only reduce the amount of fresh water that remains on Earth. Moreover, the population of our planet keeps growing, which means that the demand for water will become
even higher in the near future.
Therefore, it would be better if water prices remained the same, as free water would only cause problems for our planet’s ecosystem. In addition, people should be more educated about saving water and using it carefully, because small actions can make a big difference for the environment.
