Band 7+: Government should ban dangerous sports, others think they have the freedom to choose. Discuss both views and give your comments.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The existence of dangerous sports has recently sparked public concerns. While many supporters argue that playing dangerous sports is a right of each individual, some opponents advocate for banning these sports. This essay aims to express the preferred viewpoints concerning this problem and give some arguments to support this stance.

On the one hand, the most obvious reason why people think dangerous sports should be restricted is probably due to their potential risks. These kinds of sports usually require so hard physical movements that only a moderate mistake in practicing can lead to severe injuries. Especially, if the athletes’ injuries relate to their main body’s parts like brains, or nervous systems, it would be hard for them to recover as a normal person. As a matter of fact, many risky players have suffered from permanent disabilities throughout their lives. Additionally, the high costs of training and preparing for dangerous sports should be taken into consideration. The more hazardous the sports, the more effort, and financial support are required to secure the players. To illustrate, if the government allows its players to pursue dangerous sports, it would probably make efforts to keep players safe. It is suggested that the government should hire professors from overseas to train domestic athletes because some countries may not have qualified trainers. It means that the government has to allocate significant financial resources but the chances to gain success somehow depend on the athletes’ fortune. For these reasons, banning dangerous sports can protect communal well-being and avoid unstable investments.

On the other hand, many supporters consider personal rights in playing sports. Everyone has the choice to play the sport which is associated with their desire and talent. Noticeably, many people want to step out of their comfort zone and gain exceptional results in their sports careers. These are all genuine goals of people that no one can interfere with. Furthermore, let’s consider the admirable achievements that dangerous sports bring to their players. To explain, the more difficult and dangerous obstacles players surpass, the wider recognition they will receive. Take the case of the two famous athletes of Vietnam for illustration, Quoc Co, and Quoc Nghiep. They did break the record of The World’s Talent contest with an extremely hard and dangerous performance. One was upside-down on the other’s shoulders, and they calmly stepped down the staircases. Such bravery is recognized and widely praised in the contest, making it a triumphant success.

In conclusion, although I acknowledge that dangerous sports may cause potential risks in terms of physical health and financial resources, I gravitate toward a positive and open mindset. People have the right to pursue their dreams in any type of sport and the freedom to challenge themselves to achieve big accomplishments.
