In the present days, children are following a sedentary lifestyle, which has a detrimental effect on their health. Some people think that educational institutions should take control over this condition, whereas others believe that parents should take the responsibility. This essay outlines both the views along with my opinion.
Schools can conduct sports that help students maintain a healthy weight, build strength, and improve fitness. Regular physical activity is essential for reducing the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic health conditions. Involvement in sports encourages the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits, including proper nutrition, regular exercise, adequate sleep, and stress management. For instance, studies show that pupils who participate in sports are at a low risk of developing lifestyle diseases. Moreover, schools have the opportunity to educate students about the importance of healthy eating, regular physical activity, and overall well-being.
However, parents are responsible for providing nutritious meals and snacks for their children, teaching them about balanced diets, and modeling healthy eating behaviors. Additionally, they play a crucial role in encouraging physical activity and limiting sedentary behaviors among their children. For instance, children with less screen time are highly healthier than other kids who spend a lot of time on screens. Furthermore, parents establish rules and boundaries around health-related behaviors, such as bedtime routines, meal times, and screen time limits. Consistent and clear expectations help children develop healthy habits and routines.
In conclusion, my opinion is that collaboration between schools and parents is essential for tackling this issue effectively, as each has a unique influence on children’s behavior and habits.
