Today, several students are not easily focus at the school. The major reason stem from high usage of mobile phones at the school. Governments, especially Minister of Education should take some actions such as banning smartphones to come schools or applying educational programs to demonstrate negative effects of it.
To begin with, as technological development increase rapidly, new games or social platforms emerge. Children are provided with mobile phones by their parents at the youngest age and they easily access that platforms. They find it difficult to control their usage habit of smartphones and this situation leads to distractions. Students use their phones as sending videos or playing games during a class time. At the end, they lost their concentration on paying attention to the class. According to several investigations, the performance of students decreased significantly. The participants of Olympic games dropped almost 10 percent worldwide and this situation mostly comes from their distractions by phones.
One of the comprehensive solutions are banning phones that are used by students at the school. Governments should educate students the negative effect of using phone during class and its negative consequences with regard to their performance and even mantal health. For example, in Azerbaijan, Minister of Education has undertaken several educational seminars both students and their parents in terms of student’s lack of focus during classes. Furthermore, before classes begin students’ phones are taken and give it back when class ends. These techniques increased students’ performance significantly and number of gold medal from Olympic game enlarged 2 times.
To sum up, paying attention at the school seems challenging for many students. The problem is using smartphones during class times and government must regulate as banning phone usage at the school.
