Today, an increasing number of people in the world are becoming too fat, and many people thinks that making fattening food more expensive is the only way to solve it quickly. From my perspective, while increasing the price of fattening foods can have certain benefits, other solutions should not be overlooked.
Admittedly, increasing the price of fattening foods offers several advantages. One key benefit is that high price can stop some people from buying junk food, which encourage them to look for healthier and cheaper food everyday because fast food is bad. Furthermore, some countries like Mexico and Hungary already put tax on sugary drinks and fast food with a small success. However, this money strategy alone do not solve the main problem because people bad habits are always very difficult to change and they still buy it anyway.
Despite these merits, relying solely on this approach may be insufficient, so alternative measures such as education can also play a crucial role. First and foremost, it is important to teach the public about good food and the danger of getting fat by teaching nutrition in school classes. Another method is that creating safe and easy places for physical activity will inspire people to choose active lifestyle, which help to make a healthy culture because exercising is very good for health.
In conclusion, although increasing the price of fattening foods is undeniably beneficial, other comprehensive and balanced approaches should be adopted.
