Internet gives sense of freedom for users and leads them to posting everything without verification due to it some people do want to trust on information from web. I fully agree with this poin of view because internet is uncontrolled platform without fact-cheking and also may play manipulative role in public misled.
Firstly, it is well known that the news from digital media does not undergo appropriate editorial control. There is huge traffic of information send to people around the world, but only approximately one third of these are checked. As a result, a large amount of misleading content spread to internet users, distorting facts about health, society, and government, leading people to make poorly informed decisions in their daily lives. Over time, this contributes to the spread of misinformation and declining public trust in online platforms. In a modern world, where the internet can help to provide necessary content to the population, eroding public trust about news from digital media may interrupt this tendency.
On the other hand, it can also be argued that some news outlets play manipulative role with public opinion by exaggerating events against some individuals. That is to say, news is often published to aim disrupt a reputation of particular people due to financial gain or political agendas. Take for example, famous persons who suffered from bulling in social media, stemming from unverified reports. Their reputation was destroyed bring about sad consequenses including job lose, depression, and demotivation about future tasks. Nowadays, information is a source of power, as those who control the news can influence public opinion.
Admittedly, the internet can expand the capabilities of people. However, the power of unverified and uncontrolled reports from social media may be dangerous to society, leading to problems related to misinformation and manipulation.
