People residing in large cities encounter multiple challenges in their daily lives. This essay will discuss two major problems, pollution and the cost of living, which I believe should lead governments to encourage people to shift to smaller regional towns.
On the one hand, increasing pollution is been a great concern among the people living in metropolitan cities. The rising usage of automobiles has led to large number of pollutants being released into the air. Also, advancement in industrial sector has rooted the release of toxic chemicals into water, causing degradation of the quality of water. Moreover, expanding population has led to congestion in urban cities, thus pressurizing the housing supply. People are forced to live in small apartments and uncomfortable spaces. Studies have shown that living in a small space can have direct impact on an individual’s mental health and affect their performance at work.
On the other hand, governments should do what they can to encourage people to live in regional towns.
Firstly, it will decrease the number of vehicles in town, which will definitely reduce air pollution. Secondly, this will reduce the pressure of housing supply on people living in the cities. Moreover, individuals migrating from cities to small towns will be able to live a healthy life with good quality of air and less pollution. Furthermore, cost of living would be cheaper as compared to cities, and people could live in large apartments at cheaper costs.
In conclusion, severe pollution and expensive living costs are among the most common problems faced by people nowadays,. personally, I feel authorities should uplift people to relocate to small regional areas to live.
