While some contend that leadership is an innate ability, I side with those who argue that people can acquire the knowledge of leadership throughout their lives.
To begin with, it is commonly thought that leaders inherit the ability in all likelihood. Since there are abundant genetic codes such as DNA, some skills can be passed to the children from parents and may occur in the early stages of life without even a single practice. With this in mind, proponents of the notion believe that people who were born with inborn leadership skills can easily manage to accomplish superior techniques and may suddenly take off in most cases. For instance, Paolo Maldini, captain of Milan FC, has leaped to success in terms of being a leader. He was born to lead the team with supreme and instinctive abilities as his father, former captain of Milan FC. In such a short time, he has shown that he is a born-talented player.
Despite the claims mentioned above, advocates of the opposite opinion state that this talent can be obtainable with a proper approach and grasp. Demanding as it seems, humans can be able to reach a superb level of any capability by training mightily time after time. Thus, competence in leading people or groups can be learned by people. Take Cristiano Ronaldo as a prime example. He was born in a bad condition, poverty, with no particular innate football skills, unlike other superstars since his father was an alcoholic. However, having attempted to be a football star, by virtue of many efforts, he succeeded in making his dream happen and now is believed to be one of ‘the greatest of all time’ with a great career.
In conclusion, whilst some people indeed have a natural talent for leadership, I am of the opinion that everyone can master it with appropriate methods.
