Living in a multi-cultural society without geographic boundaries has developed the need to speak different languages from the mother tongue. It is argued from academics that it is most effective for children to start improving and learning new languages during the fist few years of schooling. In my opinion, the positive aspects of studying a foreign language in younger age are more than the potential disadvantages.
Firstly,studies suggest that childern in pre-scholar age are more incline to internalize new information. According to psycologist, human brain uses shortcuts when exposed to something new, but this process is easily inhibited when children’s mind is cosidered. Moreover, the propension and the willingness to learn increase marginally during the time. For instance, it is easier to be focus on learing the first times an argument is presented rather than in elderly age. This phenomena is explained by the learning curve theory. Despite this, some scholars think that improving a new language could create confusion between idioms in children mind.
Secondly, someone believe that learning a foreign language during primary school increase the possibilities to make it easier for these children to learn quickly and easily new languages while at secondary school. Developing the capabilities to think and speak in two different idioms, augment the potential of become polyglot.
In conclusion, nowadays it is important to learn new languages and starting in the erliest years of school could be a starting point to become proficient in different idioms. Although academics have differet perspective about the topic, it reccommended for children to approach to a different language as soon as they are at primary school.
