People have different views about the reasons behind students’ academic success. It is argued by some that quality tutors are essential for academic success; however, others feel that it is hard work and commitment that play a vital role in student success. I firmly believe that a combination of both factors will lead a scholar to academic success, and in the course of this essay, I will discuss both viewpoints.
To begin with, a good teacher is like a magician, what I mean to say is that every student has potential, which potential can be discovered by a teacher. A well-trained and quality tutor who knows how to make a lesson interesting as well as instructive. They are able to teach students so well that students do not feel studying is boring, rather they find it interesting and enjoyable, which helps them to prosper. A good illustration of this is an institute in Dhaka called “Victoria Academy.” It used to have poor performance in student academic exams, activities, sports, and so on, but last year they decided to hunt for quality teachers from all over the country and they got some good tutors for their institute, which increased their student academic success surprisingly.
On the other hand, personal mindset and hard work are equally important for doing well academically. If a student is not determined and committed to his studies, he cannot do well in academic progress. It does not matter how good his teacher is. A good example of this is that in Africa, there are a majority of students who are unprivileged, still some of them become exemplary successful in their studies since they are extremely determined with their studies.
In my point of view, although quality tutors are crucial, even so, mindset, attitude, and hard work are equally important for academic prosperity.
To conclude, taking the above into account, it would appear that both have a significant impact regarding prosperity in academia.
