Many people believe that protecting the environment is mainly the responsibility of government rather than individuals. Although governments play a main(crutial) role in dealing with environmental issues, I strongly disagree with the idea of only government protect environment.
Firstly, environmental problems have become increasingly serious in recent years. It caused global warming, which is increase in Earth’s average temperature due to greenhouse gasses. Air pollution and water pollution also affect negatively to environment. Another major issue is deforestation, which refers to the large cutting down of forests for agriculture and industrial purposes. Many large-scale removals of forests for agriculture or industry. Governments should create strict laws to reduce pollution levels and preserve natural resources. Also governments have the financial resources to environmental problems by introduce environmental laws, use renewable energy resources such as solar energy and wind power.
However, individuals also have an important role in protecting the environment. People daily actions also affect environment. Citizens can teach people such as recycling, saving water, and using public transportation instead of private cars. Moreover, citizens can raise environmental awareness and encourage others to use environmentally friendly products. If individuals do not take responsibility for their actions, environmental problems will continue to increase.
In my opinion, protecting the environment should be considered a shared responsibility between governments and individuals. Governments can create effective policies, citizens can contribute through environmentally behavior in their everyday lives. Without cooperation between both sides, it would be extremely difficult to struggle climate change successfully.
In conclusion, although governments play a vital role in addressing environmental challenges, individuals are equally responsible for protecting nature. Therefore, both governments and citizens must work together to create a cleaner and more sustainable world.
