People still hold opinions that equality is already over in our society, while others believe there is much to do, to improve it, in my view inequality still exists.
Basically, people think that women and men are already equal, it connected to some changes, like: Kazakhstan adopted the “Concept of Family and Gender Policy until 2030”, which strengthened the position on economic empowerment of women. Nevertheless, feminist theory started growing up and began to spread. However, this position not reached yet, moreover women still lack full rights.
Others believe that there is still substantial progress to be made, and i agree. The reason is our society depends on mentality, stereotypes and cultural norms. For example stereotypes like women mostly responsible for household, instead of career or education. These stereotypes make preconceptions that can lead to discrimination in the workplace or family settings. Moreover, there is workplace barriers, many industries still have gender imbalances, women’s leadership, efforts are still underestimated, and don’t get equal pay, even if they are do the same work.
In conclusion, if some people think that gender equality has been achieved, I think patriarchal society still exists, additionally it is very hard to get rid of this.
