Band 5+: Some people feel that robots are very important to humans' future development, while others think that they are dangerous and have negative effects on the society. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Write atleast 250 words.

Nowadays, the prevalence of robots give a debatable topic. Some argued the development of robots is really significant toward society’s future, while others said it is going to gives a harmful impact. In this essay, I will present both view and my personal opinion about the role of robots in our society’s development.

On one hand, the usage of robots gives better efficiency in production. Robots can work a lot faster and cheaper in comparison to human laborers. This can be proven by the amount of products that it produces daily. Statistics shown the goods that are processed by robots are ten times the amount of manual production. As a result, the robots are marginally better in fulfilling the society’s demand that increased in recent years.

However, in opposing point of view, the utilization of robots give less job opportunities for humans. This can be seen by the less employment in every industry, since people are no longer needed when a specific job desk can be done by a machine. For example, the cashier is mostly replaced by an automatic check-out machine or in the production of packaged foods, hundreds of manpower are replaced by a single robot and a person to supervise the production process. This leaves a significant amount of productive workforce being jobless after getting replaced by robots.

In conclusion, I believe the widespread use of robots is beneficial in increasing productivity, while in other view, the usage of robots can replace human’s role in some fields of work. If it were possible, we would always hope for the world’s development to adapt with humans, but with the current circumstances of the world, it seems that humans are the ones who need to adapt. In the end, the only solution for us to not be replaced by robots is to keep adapting towards the development of the world.
