Undoubtedly, the rapid of advancement of technology, and the development of innovation have been becoming more and more significant and essential in society and economy. Whereas some people look upon science subjects as critical knowledges, others refer to it as general majors. As for my perspective, I am in favor of the later, and the reasons will be thoroughly elaborated on as follows.
One primary reason that government should not invest all money on science subjects is the perceived difficult by certain children; therefore, there is no need to require each teenager to select science-related knowledge. In the other word, some kids might find these subjects challenging, promoting them to choose less demanding fields of study. Take my cousin as an example. My cousin, Elly, whose subject was music and planed to apply postgraduate degree in England a couple of years ago, however, she was unable to fulfill her dreams due to expensive tuition fee and limited government fundings on music major; as a consequence, government should not put all budgets on science-related file of study.
Furthermore, the imbalance of talent is another issue, a shortage of individuals studying in other fields may result a lack of professionals with expertise in critical areas. To put it another way, it may lead a skill gap in industries and impact a country’s economy and competitiveness on global stage in the future. According to study of National Taiwan University, which reveals that government put above 40% funding on science-related fields will have an obviously and negative consequences on economy, culture, and entertainment industries; as a result, government investment should not be only put on certain subjects or fields since everyone should has the same right to enjoy the welfare.
In conclusion, according to the aforementioned, government should not invest all budgests on scientific-related knowledge fields due to lack of interests and imbalance talent consideration.
