It is undeniable that an increasing number of criminals has threatened most of the nations. Some people claim that the optimal way to tackle crimes is enhancing the police workforce on the streets. However, I firmly believe that this is not the best way, and there are better solutions the tackle this problem.
On the one hand, it is reasonable why some individuals support the idea of having more police. Police officers who are tasked with solving crimes are not only well-trained and experienced but sometimes they also have important equipment, such as handcuffs and batons, for confronting lawbreakers. However, implementing this phenomenon requires a significant amount of police members and a vast amount of budget. Therefore, it is difficult to have more policemen in residential areas.
On the other hand, there are several ways to reduce the crime rates. Firstly, the main reason of committing crimes is as a result of poor education. Hence, it is important to educate the community regarding the laws and the consequences of breaking it. For example, interactive awareness sessions can be arranged with the support of local police stations in schools or higher academy institutes. Another solution is that government should set up technological devices like CCTV everywhere. Consequently, the officers do not have to go different places to check, and it is the better way to save money and time.
In conclusion, although increasing the number of police to prevent illegal actions is understandable, I strongly hold that this is not an efficient way. Besides, there are more logical method such as training courses and using technological instruments to deter offenders.
