Positive And Negative

Band 5+: Task 2: In many parts of the world, famous people are regarded as role models and they have an increasing influence on the young. Is this a positive or negative development?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

There are differing opinions about gaining a role model of celebrities. While some believethat it will bring benefits, I do believe that it is worrying development.

On the one hand, some role models do live up their status. There are many celebrities that are teaching good things that are promoting social causes. When celebrities knew that they are a role model, they can do some charity works, as a result preventing poverty, or even helping to diseased and disabled to recover. Take MrBeast, co-founder of Feastebles and founder of the channel “MrBeast” on the YouTube which has half of the billion of followers, and he as millionaire helping disabled people, making donation of thousands and millions of dollars on helping them. He built water stations in the areas which lacked water and with the worldwide organisation he planted trees all around the world.

Unfortunately those people who will help to the environment and diseased people are few and far between. Most of them just enjoying their lavish lifestyles, fraught with partying or just have a fun. There may be some people who make donations, but not for the benefit of the people and environment, however for the benefits of their wallets, most of the celebrities are just materialists. As a result, that role models can subliminally encourage adolescents to make things like that, and thinking just for the profit.

In conclusion, while there really good role models which have a desire to help nature and people,I do believe that there are a great amount of famous people which just keen on the profit.
