In this modern era, media should stop providing overall details of multiple crimes as it has negative impact on local communities. I totally agree with this statement, and in this essay, I will support my opinion with examples.
To begin with, the first reason is that media is introducing pathways of multiple crimes to public by reporting step by step ways of crime. This means some individuals can adapt those ways to be criminal. For instance, car robbery in Canada has been increased since the news channels started providing details of how cars being robbed.
On the other hand, media is the spreading awareness among other criminal by showcasing the criteria of prisoners, who are behind the bars. This means, other criminals will be more focused on prisoners mistake to avoid. Take loan applications as an example, In 2022 fake loan applications were on its peak, they used to scam innocent people’s in India and Pakistan. But they get caught by police and then as usual media played its role to spread awareness among other likewise criminals. Consequently, new loan applications in both countries are again in markets.
To sum up all of the above, media should be precise while reporting crimes. In my view, media is just being a source for more crimes in the societies by providing new ways of scams. Moreover, other criminals are more aware because of such details.
