The below graph illustrates the amount of fuels that is produced in the UK during 1981 and 2000 where 1 unit energy is as equal to the energy produced from one million tones of oil and the unit of the production level these fuels is in energy units.
Overall, the line that is in blue shows the amount of petroleum produced while that in ash represents coal and that in orange represents natural gas. The period of time is shown in the horizontal axis while the amount of energy is shown in the vertical axis.
In terms of the various fossil fuels that is mentioned in the line graph shows that the amount of petroleum that is being produced has been increasing from 1981 to 1986 while from there the production eventually decreased from 1986 to 1991 and finally it the level of production started to rise from 1991 to 2000.
Now, when it comes to coal there seems to be a steady state around 1981 to 1983 while it has decreased from there on till 1984 and again it started to gain a bit of rise in production till the end of 1986 and finally , more or less it production again declined till 2000.On the other hand if we look into the level of production in natural gas it started to increase linearly with time from 1981 to 2000 with energy units ranging around 40 to 80.
