Band 4+: To meet the growing need for food to support an increasing population, a country should make use of edible insects as a food source. However, some people believe that insects are not only unhealthy but harvesting them will also negatively affect nature. What are the benefits and drawbacks of eating insects? In the light of current world, demand of population has increased towards food which is why many people conceptualize that including fungi’s in daily diets would be beneficial for locality while other criticize this notion and deemed that eating such kinds of food create dire consequences in the path of localities. As per my way of thinking, there are not only advantages but also disadvantages which cannot be neglected. This essay intends to articulate some relevant examples sounded with my opinion before conclusion.

Highlighting the positive approach of eating insects, it cannot be denied at present many nations have started eating flies and other insects for taking nutrients, it is true that many insects are full with protein and fiber which is the basic necessity of human being due to which people can stay healthy in their life. To epitome, in Indonesia, local citizens like to eat small fungi’s which are fulfilling their nutritious value. Along with it, many companies are about to producing some products which would be worked as boon for locality.

Moving further another aspect due to which people do not accept the idea, first and foremost, sometime some insects are flooded with poison owing to this the direct impact on life of person .Additionally some people are religiously connected who do not like to kill any for their food source because they think if we eat insects on daily basis it unbalance the food chain as well as pollination would be stopped. To cite an example to clarify my opinion, in India people are totally against the notion because may insects help to the farmers enhance the soil power in the farming sectors .

In conclusion, although some insects are beneficial for locality for protein which cannot get form other things but the detrimental effect cannot be overlooked. I opine that it is totally depends on the likeness of personally instead of imposing.
