In recent years, there has been considerable debate about technological device abuse. One school of thought holds that it has led to the diminution of direct communication. From my perspective, I completely agree with this view. In this essay, I will elaborate on the reasons supporting my position.
The primary justification for my viewpoint is the convenience of using mobile phones and computers. This is because individuals have numerous tasks to complete each day. We often prefer calling or texting on our own devices, which can result in a decline in face-to-face interaction. Moreover, it undermines (làm suy yếu) essential social skills such as reading body language or expressing emotions effectively. As a result, people may become less confident in real-life interactions.
Another factor is the attraction of social media such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, particularly online gaming. Millions of individuals are addicted to technological devices, which lead to negative outcomes such as reducing concentration and impacting work performance. At the same time, the overuse of digital devices results in long-term effects. For instance, individuals may lose connection with family, friends and create a sense of detachment from society . This demonstrates that mobile phones or computers have reshaped communication patterns, often losing direct personal connections.
In conclusion, I firmly agree that digital devices have diminished direct communication by encouraging convenience and fostering digital dependency. For these reasons, individuals should limit screen time and prioritize real-life conversations. Also, governments and policymakers must implement policies wisely to maintain social bonds among citizens and traditional communication.
