International tourism has brought immense benefits to many places around the world, but there is growing concern about its impact on local inhabitants and the environment. Nevertheless, the pros of international tourism outweighs cons.
Firstly, international tourism can lead to crowded tourism places, which can result in a declined quality of services, rising transportation costs and decreased cultural authenticity of the visited places. For example, popular tourist destinations such as Paris have experienced overwhelming crowds during the peak tourism months, leading to longer wait times for popular attractions like Disneyland Park, high costs for transportation and accommodation as well as a decrease in the cultural authenticity of the visited places. This can result in a degraded tourist experience and a negative impact on local residents who have to deal with the seasonal overcrowding. Secondly, over-tourism can also lead to environmental degradation due to the overexploitation of natural resources, such as water and energy, as well as an increase in waste production.
Despite these potential disadvantages, international tourism has still brought many benefits to many destinations around the world. For example, tourism has contributed to the economic development of many developing countries, providing a significant source of income and employment opportunities. Additionally, International tourism has also helped to preserve and apply cultural heritage which promotes cultural exchange and understanding between the difference of the diverse cultures. Moreover, tourism has helped to create opportunities for personal growth and self-discovery for many tourists, encouraging them to explore new cultures and learn about different ways of life.
In summary, while international tourism has its disadvantages, I strongly believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
