In the contemporary era, it is undeniable that movies play a pivotal role in fulfilling people’s entertainment purposes. Several inhabitants argue that in modern times, theaters and cinemas are no longer significant; inhabitants can enjoy their leisure time watching online movies. Others say that cinemas and theaters still play a crucial role both culturally and economically. I partially agree with this statement. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss both views in support of my viewpoint with relevant examples.
On the one hand, in today’s world, it has rapidly changed; therefore, modern electrical products, such as mobile phones and computers, have reached every apartment, as well as the internet price being cheaper compared to past situations. When citizens have spare time, they can watch any kind of movie, for instance, Hollywood and Bollywood, through Netflix and YouTube on only a single device, sitting in their bedrooms. When it comes to exploring theaters or cinemas, they lose their interest due to time consumption and excessive use of money. In other words, according to the mass media, 65% of the population spends six to eight hours on social media to accomplish their recreational demands. As a result, gradually traditional cinemas and theaters no longer justify themselves for humans, owing to online movies being popular for everyone.
on the other hand. Film theaters are not only important for cultural value but also benefit authorities. When most of the populations depend on online commuting, this reason makes local film culture destroyed over time. If the government upgrades local theaters and cinemas through cutting-edge technology, for example, big displays and Dolby sound systems, after that, people prefer to go to local film clubs, and they represent our culture, and the government makes a huge amount of money.
In conclusion, from my perspective, both arguments are pivotal. When the internet is easy for everyone, they choose to watch movies online; in contrast, theaters and cinemas sustain communal, economical, and cultural fabric od society.
