The destiny of old historical buildings has become a topic of intense debate. One side advocates for replacing old buildings and houses in cities with more modern buildings, while others think we have to save them from being demolished.
In the old days building used to have more details and art within the details. Architecture used to be about making artistic places for us to use or live in. For instance, banks used to be in great palaces. instead, now everything has been taken down to be more convenient. Minimalism has taken over leaving the building with no identity. Architects in modern life focus more on being practical, not paying much attention to the beauty aspect.
However, it’s crucial to consider the safety of the people. Therefore, if any old mansion or building imposes any danger, right and instant actions should be taken. whether trying to restore the building or taking it down completly. Another point to consider is the space wich most of the old buildings take. Before there was not any proplem related to overpopulation, but now modern convenient multie storey buildings or towers maybe the best solution to overcome this problem.
In my opinion, historical buildings and old houses add great charm to any city. It keeps the identy and the heritage of the city to the future generations. So keeping as much buildings as we can and maintaing them is a priority to keep their beauty alive.
In conclusion, replacing old buildings and houses in cities should be only taken in consideration if the restoring option is not working and if the building state puts people’s life in danger. Otherwise, why would someone want to distroy an art piece.
