The technological advancement in the world is speeding up day by day and it is an acceptable fact that machines are indeed taking over more and more jobs than humans previously did. In my opinion, machines can replace humans to do work and it will be an inevitable amenity everywhere as the world is more pruned to technology and innovation.
It is a fact that machines can increase productivity in the workplace by working faster more efficiently than humans which would bring an increased output. Similarly, machines can perform dangerous or repetitive tasks which could reduce the risks of accidents for human workers. In addition to it, machines can be programmed to perform a variety of tasks making them adaptable to changing production needs. Though machines can’t think creatively as humans, it can create products more innovatively than humans as we customize them to the requirements.
As a matter of fact, buying machines can be expensive and the maintenance cost also will be high. So the initial expense to purchase those will be higher. At times machines can malfunction or break down which may lead to delays to supply the products on time. Another disadvantage of machines is that it is devoid of any human feelings and sentiments whereas the work of humans at times will be disrupted if he comes across some personal problems. Similarly operating and maintaining machines may require specialized skills which can be difficult to find in the workplace.
In conclusion, though using machines can improve productivity and profit, the involvement of humans in guiding the machines is an absolute necessity. As we live in a world of artificial intelligence, I think that machines will take over more responsible professions or careers in the near future and it will make human work easier, more fruitful, and more beneficial.
