Nowadays, traffic congestion on the road has become a great concern for the people on the streets. So, there has been a suggestion that more money should be spend on railway tracks rather than roads. The quote is appropriate according to me. I will discuss about the reasons below.
Many people are losing their valuable time on the road due to traffic jam. They are not able to get to their workplace on time. Besides, some of the people are not able to go to hospital or any other emergency places for that queue of vehicles on the road. On the other hand, road construction and maintenance needs a lot of time as well as a huge chunk of money from the taxpayers.
Trains can solve this problem to a huge extent. The people who are getting struck in traffic jams can get a relief if more railways are made. Train can carry a large amount of people in it. So, there will be a reduction the number of people in the roads, Besides that, railway station and rail line construction needs a lot less budget than the amount needed for the road works and its maintenance.
I agree to the fact that more money should be spent on railways. It will save people’s time and help them to reach to their destination on time. From my personal experience, I need to spend most of my time on road due to traffic congestion. If there was enough railways I could have opt for train which could have saved a great amount of time for me. Train can travel a large amount of distance within a very short amount of time plus it can carry more people than the public transit like bus. Another reason for the need of more railways are it pollutes the environment less than the private cars or buses.
To summarize, train creates less pollution for the public as well as it has more benefits for the general public than the other type of transports available in the streets. The maintenance and operation cost of the railways are lower than the other types available. So, governments should spend more money on railways.
