In today’s world, climate change stands as one of the greatest threats facing humanity. Regarding these global problems, it is accepted by certain individuals that humans need to take immediate action. Although it is quite complicated to resolve this matter, I strongly believe that the involvement of all citizens plays significant roles in combating climate change for two reasons.
First and foremost, human activities are the main cause of climate change, resulting in a global rise in average temperatures. For instance, the manufacturing industry is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions around the world. Not only that, cutting down forests, deforestation and other land use changes, is responsible for roughly a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, our earth has already warmed approximately 1 degree celsius, since the 19th century before industry started to boom.
Furthermore, we need to consider the well being of future generations. Even though children have contributed the least to the climate crisis, they will pay the highest consequences. Research reveals that the increased air-pollution levels worldwide are affected by a rise in lung cancer and other respiratory diseases. There is much evidence that children are estimated to suffer more than 80% of the illnesses caused by climate change. Therefore, we need to take action to make a better world for a better generation to live in a beautiful, diverse, and nurturing planet.
To conclude, we need to take action as soon as possible because this climate change is caused by human activities. It is also important to consider the effect for future generations.
