Traffic congestion is increasing all over the world. One of the reasons for this problem is that most people prefer to drive their own cars rather than use public transport because it is more convenient. Another reason for this is that the roads are too small for the growing number of cars. One viable solution would be to improve public transport, and make it more reliable. Moreover the government should build more roads or make roads wider.
On the one hand, most individuals spend a lot of time commuting by their own vehicles because most public transport is not comfortable or clean enough. Therefore the number of vehicles in the roads has increased. I believe that this problem can be solved by enhancing those placese for example, changing the seats and doors for new and more raliable ones, moreover government should impose a fine on anyone who litters. As a result, that can encourage more people to leave their cars at home therefore use public tranport.
On the other hand, most of the roads are too small compared to the number of cars. Therefore the government should invest in new roads or make the roads wider and that can reduce traffic especially at peak hours. For instance, In Japan the government has dedicated new lanes for cycling and others for buses. As a result the traffic congestion problem was significantly reduced. Another good idea would be to make companies provide buses for their employees, that would make commuting a lot easier and it would reduce the number of cars on the road.
In conclusion, traffic is increasing all over the world, one of the reasons for this problem would be that most individuals prefer to use their own cars instead of public transport . Another reason would be that the roads are too small. However a viable solution would be to improve public transport and make roads wider.
