In this day and age, more and more attention has been placed on whether news reports in all media platforms should focus on some problematic and emergent issues positively having a detrimental effect on people’s metal well-being or not. From my point of view, I partly agree with this statement, and offers explanations below.
On the one hand, overemphasis on negative stories could have an adverse effect on individuals’ metal statement. This is because people could be obsessed by bad news on daily basis if they are absorbed from reading news, and drowning on negative thinking. For instance,the ongoing debate that it is declining the flux of travellers flocking to countries, or destinations which are warned having wars, terrorisms, and conflicts. Furthermore, it is obvious that it is potentially promising causes of misunderstanding perceptions of some aspects in society result in reading downside points from media. To be more specific, public have affected by scandals of famous celebrities, which leave the bad impressionists in the viewers and new seekers in some tabloids. In other words, the community has a adverse judgement on entertained industry and neglects greater contributors of them.
On the other hand, I am in favor of those who believe that such real emergencies and negative scenarios have played a crucial role to raise public’s awareness. Firstly, the more these situations appear, the more higher recognition people are. For instance, more and more people strike to balance between physical health and mental health, since they learn how to take care themselves to prevent such dangerous diseases such as cancer representing on a daily basis news. Secondly, media platforms help to spread news more widely and fast in modern day. Relatively, it benefits the community in all aspects in life. Therefore, we literally have to broaden our horizon by exchanging international culture, sampling other national cuisine so that the community foster the international bond across the globe.
In conclusion, the media has good reason to report on all issues, although the accompanying negative impacts need to be considered.
