Traditional culture undeniably plays a significant role in shaping our identities and connecting us to our country. Some believe that nowadays, people do not care about preserving the traditional culture of their country or region, while others think that maintaining a traditional way of life is still essential for people. Both of these views have their merits, and in this essay, I will discuss them.
Currently, the Internet and social media are very popular, allowing us to receive and absorb many cultures from around the world. However, ancient customs and practices often get overshadowed by popular trends due to young people’s misconceptions. For example, young people may prioritize global fashion, music, and Western styles over local traditions.
On the other hand, not all young people share this mindset. One of the main reasons is that they believe cultural identity provides a sense of belonging and a connection to their ancestors. Preserving a traditional way of life helps us understand our roots, cultural identities, and valuable traditions passed down through generations. For instance, the Lunar New Year in Vietnam remains one of the most crucial festivals, preserving traditions and customs for many years.
In conclusion, while some aspects of tradition may naturally fade away, the core values and cultural identity are always important. Therefore, we should work together to preserve our traditions and promote them to people worldwide.
