Given the emergence of several media outlets, some people are of the opinion that conventional newspapers are now obsolete. Personally, I disagree with this viewpoint based on some compelling reasons.
There are several rationales explaining why printed news still holds great significance in the digital age. One of these can be attributable to their reliability. Indeed, before being released to the masses, these papers usually undergo rigorous editorial processes to ascertain a high level of accuracy. To illustrate, “The People’s Public Security Newspaper” offers a comprehensive and objective view for readers due to strict evaluations, making it a preferred choice for many Vietnamese people. Meanwhile, other publications may lack reliable censorship, potentially exacerbating disinformation and misinformation. This explains why many enthusiasts retain the habit of reading hard-copy newspapers.
Another justification for my disagreement is that traditional newspapers have been ingrained in the lives of many individuals, serving as essential spiritual nourishment. With long-term exposure to this medium, some people, particularly the elders, may develop an immense sense of familiarity, making it challenging to switch to other media outlets. Additionally, the physicality of printed news offers an aesthetically pleasing and enriching tactile experience, an aspect that modern devices have yet to replicate. Hence, despite the diversity and accessibility of online resources, newsprint publications still act as a unique source of pleasure and relaxation.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that printed newspapers hold great significance in today’s world, as they are either a trustworthy medium to stay updated or a source of entertainment.
