It is often argued that categories of TV shows have impact on children’s behavior, while others suggest that it depends on the time they spend on TV. In my opinion, I believe that both two factors effect kids to response to reality.

For one thing, different types of television programs play varying influences on children’s behavior. If children are exposed to more positive shows like educational cartons and entertainment shows, they may learn lots of knowledge and find relaxation, which is constructive to their better academic performances and daily lives. By contrast, there are also many shows convey negative themes, including violence and crime. These have adverse impacts on children because the lack of determination of issues. To be more specific, children might imitate behaviors of characters and result in harmful consequences.

For another, the amount of time children spend watching TV leads to distinct outcomes. The primary reason is it is beneficial to their mental health if the screen time are correctly managed, by introducing children some novel ways to release stress and help them unwind after a long period intensive study. Another reason is too much time consumed on TV causes several problems like less communication with family and distraction of homework, which finally hinder children’s progress and replace meaningful activities such as reading, physical exercises and face-to-face interactions.

In conclusion, I believe that TV programs can be seen as both beneficial and harmful to children’s behavior, the way to solve it is spending correct time on positive kinds of shows.
