In the last decade, the number of modern technologies has increased, with numerous people getting over-reliance on them. This has led a discussion about whether we are forgetting basic skills. In my opinion, it is true.
To begin with, there are several examples of problems that nowaday person might has. First, navigation skills have changed because of the technologies and new devices such as GPS, consequently it is easy to find right way without necessitate to read maps. Most people rely so much on GPS and don’t have a sense of direction, which is disturbing. Second one, auto-correcting and spell-check features on our smartphones has made a significant influence on writing and speaking skills. There are individuals who have lost their ability to spell or write simple words correctly if there is no technology device to assist them. Third, the calculating by apps has become a part of daily life, there could be a problems with a math exercises, especially it goes for students.
Additionally, I would like to mention that technologies are helpful in learning new things and skills. Online resources and educational apps give students an opportunity to improve their studying.
In conclusion, modern devices undoubtedly make our life easier, but it is important to stay focused on basic skills. Everyone has to understand the necessary of balance between over-reliance and handling routine tasks when technologies are unavailable by hand.
