The provided bar chart illustrates data about four separate musical instruments played by young students at school from 2005 to 2015.
Overall, it is clearly seen that the figure for Guitar, Piano, and Drum experienced an upward trend. Whilst, the opposite trend was recorded for Violin. In addition, the popularity of Guitar increased significantly throughout the period and ended up reaching the vertex.
With respect to the rate of Guitar and Piano, the former rocketed and hit the peak of roughly 27% in the final period and was still the lion’s share of musical instruments selected to play by school children. Similarly, the latter saw a skyrocket increase to precisely 25%, which was 2,5 times larger than the level of 2005.
By contrast, in the initial five years, Drum and Violin stabilized at about 6% and 7.5%, respectively. Moreover, whereas the number of students preferring playing Drum jumped and comprised around 8%, there was a reversal in the pattern observed for Violin compared to Drum, where the percentage was reduced slightly down to 7% in 2015.
