The bar graph depicts the percentage of renewable energy supply in Australia, Germany, Norway and Iceland in the years 2000, 2004, and 2007.
Overall, the percentage of energy supply in all four countries increased, with Norway dominating by wide margin in each year. It is also worth noting that Australia have had the lowest proportion of energy supply.
Starting with Australia and Germany, they witnessed modest increase and was relatively lower compared to countries Norway and Iceland. Accounting for about 8% in 2000, the figure for Australia grew moderately to 10%, before falling to around 9% in 2007 and remained the lowest country with the proportion of energy supply. Germany, however experienced steady but small climb starting from approximately 12% in 2000 and reaching almost 20% in the final year.
Additionally, the share of sustainable energy in Norway increased and remained top throughout the period with about 62% in 2000 and 65 and 78% in 2004 and 2007 respectively. Moreover, Iceland was second highest country with the proportion of renewable energy, making up roughly the same proportion between 52 and 59% between 2000 and 2004, the percentage of this country underwent a gentle downward trend falling to 55% in 2007.
