This charts show a comparison of the percentage of American university students who can speak a foreign language in the years 2005 and 2015.
Overall, a majority of the students could not speak language other than English in both years. After English, Spanish was the preferred language of speaking, which shows a significant rise over 10 years, all because Latinos in the Us have significantly increased. Additionally, fewer than 15% students can speak 2 additional languages.
An analyst of these charts analyzes a decrease in the number of students who could only speak engish. The population fell from 45% in 2005 into 30% in 2015. On the other hand, Spanish speakers was witnessed as they increased from 18% into 29% in the span of 10 years. Moreover, French speakers saw gradually climbed from 8% into 10%. And german speakers saw nothing changes in the span of ten years, it only 5%.
Furthermore, all language besides Spanish, French, and German was witnessed as slowly increased from 10% in 2005 until 14% in 2015. And less than 15% who are able to speak 2 additional language. It also minimally declined from 14% into 12%
