The table compares the percentages of first-year students at two different universities who took remedial education classes: reading, math, or writing.
Overall, less than one half of students at first year at each university enrolled in these courses. In addition, this total percentage is much higher in University A than in university B.
In University A total number of students enrolled in these three courses is 45%. Compared to latter, University B has three times fewer students took these subjects, being only 15% of total number of students.
At the first university math is the most popular subject with the percentage of 35%, which is 13% higher than in subject reading, which is the least attended by students. In opposite to this, in university B math is the least populated course with only 5 percents of students. Reading is the most engaging subject to attend, where enrollment rate is 12%, which is 3% lower that total percentage of students in these remedial education classes. At both higher education institutions writing is in the middle of enrollment rates compared to other subjects.
