The energy consumption of coal in UK and USA in 2000 was the more compared to gas at 30% and 35% respectively. In contrast, the energy consumed by gas in both countries increased to approximately 35% and 25% respectively while consumption of coal reduced to around 15% in UK and 25% in USA.
The oil consumption in USA is the highest in both the years between 35% to 40% while UK has seen a slight increase to 30%. There is least consumption of nuclear power and other renewable sources in both countries with minor fluctuations between the years. The consumption of nuclear power in UK in 2006 has a decrease of about 5% and consumption of other renewable sources remains around 10%. In USA, the energy consumption of both the sources has also decreased in 2006.
