Band 5+: The diagram below shows the changes, which took place in a coastal area called Pentland from 1950 to 2007. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the diagrams below.

The set of map describe the changes in coastal area called Portland during the time period of 1950 to 2007.

In 1950, it is observable that map was categorized by road into two parts. On the left side of the road, Industrial area was located in North-East side; whereas, grassland was in South-East side. On the right side of the road, one small car parking was available and rest of area was form of grassland. In the north side of the map, road was end with the sea beach.

After 57 years, it is noticiable that there were significant development constructed in portland. Firstly, the shape of the north side road was become round and small yacht marina built there. East side of the map, Industrial area was replace by the Park, Swimming Pool and Multi-storey car park. Besides this, numerous shops,cinema and houses were built in the area of grassland. The old car park was replaced by the Apartments.

Overall, the various facilities such as shops, cinema, Swimming pool and many others were developed significantly during the time period of more than half century in Portland.
