The line graph gives information on how many jobs were available in four American economy sections, from 1960 to 2020.
Overall, it is immediately apparent that the number of jobs in manufacturing and agriculture declined over time, while those of reatil and healthcare sections experienced upward trends. Intriguingly, despite healthcare having the least number of jobs available initially, it became a dominat provider of jobs in the end.
With regard to manufacturing, the proportion of jobs started at a staggering 15 million in 1960, before reaching its high point of 20 million in 1980. The figures, however, had seen a steady decrease of approximately 7 million by 2020, with occupation numbers finishing at 13 million. The number of job openings in agriculture was a bit above than 5 million in 1960, a figure that declined to around 3 million two decades later. The figures then reamined unchanged by 2000, before reaching its low point of roughly 2 million at the end of the period given.
Focusing on increases observed in 1960, similarly, both reatil and healthcare sections experienced similar trends, with figures beginning at around 6 and 3 million, and jumping to exactly 15 and 11 million, respectively. By 2000, however, the gap between these job proportions had narrowed, after which both figures ended at 16 million.
