The table illustrates the data of railways as means of transportation for goods and people in Malaysia, Canada, China and UAE during 2007.
Overall, it is evident that majority of Chinese boarded traditional trains for mobilisation whereas Canadians utilised railways as means for trade of cargo.
In terms of Malaysia, 5.9 million of total population used rails for travelling. In contrast, 27 million residents of China utilised trains for moving. Additonally, individuals from UAE and Canada using rail accounted for 5.5 million and 0.3 million, respectively.
In terms of passenger kilometre per head of population, China occupied higher average in comparison of other nations. Moreover, all the countries traded significant amount of cargo by railways resulting in more than 20 billions of tons. Canada traded 28.20 biilions and China exported and imported 23.01 tonnes of goods through trains. However, the quantity of cargo mobilised by Malaysia and UAE was 22.2 for the former and 21.9 billions of tons for the later.
