In today’s world, human population is growing at increasing speed, requiring more and more space to satisfy need for accommodation. Thus, some people and construction companies consider not only exploration of the land outside of cities, but also inside of them, like public parks. However, I totally disapprove this positon. In this essay, careful consideration of this idea will reveal importance of these areas.
To start with, city parks play a crucial role in mental health of its inhabitants. For example, in large scale manufacturer centers, such as New York City or Tokyo, where residential areas and business buildings take the majority of the city, parks help people to relax and reduce their stress through either physical or social activities. Playing sports, having a picnic, or spending time with your close ones include small part of all things that can be done in the park, which positively affects the general mood of its visitors. As a result, the residents improve their mental state, showing undeniable significance of parks in city life
Furthermore, parks’ influence goes beyond its borders, as they have distinct effects on the city environment. Specifically, trees absorb carbon dioxide and in return release oxygen. Moreover, parks support biodiversity of these areas, as being home to numerous species of birds, insects, and plants. These green zones decrease the general temperature inside inhabited areas, mitigating heat-absorbing effects of concrete buildings along with narrow streets. Therefore, parks are essential for maintaining environmental balance and sustainability within cities.
In conclusion, while the role of parks in city life may seem minor compared to housing and business development, their presence is deeply connected with the health, happiness, and overall well-being of the community. Replacing them with buildings would not only damage the environment but also deprive people of vital spaces for relaxation and connection with nature.
