It is believed that almost all of people do not take walking as a kind of sport, which just serves their daily basis. I am going to present, first, reasons, then, ways to stimulate people to spend their time walking.
For reasons, there are two main points. First, people mostly have a lack of take care of themself. To be more specific, having a look at teenagers, they seem to have good health. Almost all of them think that they are strong at the moment, without any serious problems, not until they get sick because of their bad habits and actually have to meet doctors. Second, people nowadays are too busy with their jobs and everyday tasks, let alone sports or walking, specifically. For example, I have heard a lot of people spend their time sitting on chairs to work nearly 12 or even 16 hours a day. Working seems to be their most vital responsibility to concentrate. Although they realize that body movement is essential, they are attracted by their own tasks or deadlines that they have to finish by the end of the day, more than thinking of walking, going jogging, etc.
For ways to stimulate people to spend their time walking, there are two main points. First, developing walking applications. For instance, there are numerous websites helping users to count their steps of walking. In this way, people are likely more excited because they know vividly how much they did for their health during the days. Second, encouraging the use of public transportations. Take Japan for instance. I used to have a chance to get there. Due to the fact that the Japanese likely prioritize walking, riding bikes, and using public transportations, for the most part, their roads are actually quiet, even in the daytime. Buses or subways always stop at stations so that everybody will walk from those stations to their workplaces.
In conclusion, I have shown my ideas on this statement about, first, reasons, then, ways to stimulate people to spend their time walking.
