As a medium of art, there are many who believe that film is inferior to literature and paintings in terms of importance. However, I disagree with this opinion. I believe that film is an equally valuable and influential art form in today’s world.
On the one hand, it could be argued that literature and paintings have been a form of societal expression for many societies for decades, and as such, can be considered more important to them. Films in contrast might be said to be quite a recent invention, and therefore, the richness and diversity of the industry is incomparable to the other two forms of art. And some critics argue that many films focus only on entertainment and lack artistic value. While this is true for some commercial movies, there are also many films that are artistic masterpieces, just like classic novels or famous paintings.
On the other hand, film combines several types of art, such as storytelling, visual composition, music, and acting. It can use all these elements together to create a powerful experience. For example, movies like Interstellar or Hunger games tell deep stories and use strong visuals and sound to touch the audience emotionally. Also, film is one of the most accessible art forms. People of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy movies, while literature and painting sometimes require more background knowledge or interest.
In conclusion, while literature and paintings provide more details to the viewer and there is a widespread pattern that books are often better than their movie adaptations. I strongly believe that films are a modern form of art that reflects our world, emotions, and imagination just as effectively as the traditional arts.
