Over the years, internet is one of those aspects which has diversely advanced. Life has become more easier due to internet. Everything you need is just one click away. However, not everything you see on internet is true especially news. We will discuss in detail why we cannot trust everything that we see on internet.
Internet is accessible to everyone around the globe, due to which, there are some people who misuse this resource by spreading wrong news. One of the reasons could be unemployment. A recent study has shown that majority of fake websites or news is created by graduate students or teenagers. For example, a survey showed that the number of fake websites outweigh number of legit websites available on the internet today. Using modern technology they promote their websites and make it difficult for anyone to distingush if it is legit or not.
On the other hand, news from legitimate websites such as BBC, TV9, World Today, etc., has also been altered by hackers. Though these companies have set up a strong security prototype; yet, it gets easily hacked online. Any data available on the internet is prone to such attacks. As the security level increases the number of techniques for hacking increases as well. This is mainly because Internet is an open resource and everybody with basic knowledge can post anything on the internet or alter any data online.
Therefore, I strongly agree that we cannot go with everything we look up online. Internet being a fragile resource can be easily misused by anyone. Hence, if we are looking at any news online it is always better to cross check the information again before blindly following them.
