In contemporary modern society, robots are believed to create a whole new future for humanity. Meanwhile, some people advocate for the negative impacts of artificial intelligence on human society. Although I acknowledge the harmful effects of autonomous systems on human life, I contend that intelligent machines contribute positively to shaping humanity’s future.
There are those who assert that robots pose risks and could harm society. Their reasoning stems from the fear of human replacement in employment and the misuse of robotic systems in wars. Regarding the former, robots with significantly higher productivity can easily replace humans in several tasks, leading to a higher unemployment rate. For example, in medical areas, robotic machines have been used for surgeries, predominating over humans in terms of accuracy, safety, and asepsis during the surgical process, leading to the redundancy of about 30% of surgical doctors. Additionally, several strict regulations have been implemented to prevent the use of robots in wars. Developed countries, possessing cutting-edge technology, have the ability to produce artificial machines dedicated to combat roles. This matter could lead to a disparity in military capability between nations, resulting in increased wars and invasions.
However, I posit that autonomous robots bring about several advantages to human life. Firstly, artificial intelligence aids humans in information storage and extraction, conducive to human knowledge access. For instance, Chat GPT, an artificial bot from OpenAI company, has the ability to analyze a vast amount of data and provide insights that would take humans much longer time to process. Secondly, AI is increasingly transforming education, playing various roles to enhance learning experiences and improve educational outcomes. With the advancements of big data technology, AI can analyze students’ learning patterns and adapt content to their individual needs, allowing for personalized learning experiences. It helps students learn at their own pace, focusing on areas where they need improvement.
In conclusion, while some advocate for the risks and harmful impacts of robots on human life, I support the important role that robotic systems have played in leading humanity to a brighter future.
