It is globally believed that traditional cultures will be lost because of the continuous technology advancements. This essay agrees that it is impossible to have these two things together. Firstly, many traditional writings and scripts are under the danger of being lost because of technology inventions, and secondly, young people are less and less captivated by traditional music and dance.
As technology advances, people tend to pay attention to learning world languages which are widely used across different nations for communication and forget about the values of their own traditional languages and scripts. There are a significant number of applications and translation tools that help to convert and translate words into traditional scripts. As a result, people consider learning traditional writing is not necessary anymore. To point out, only a small amount of people know the Mongolian traditional vertical script since it is not official writing anymore. Furthermore, in China most people use Simplified Chinese instead of Traditional Chinese writing.
It is commonly believed that not only traditional languages, but also traditional music and dance, will be lost in the future. Traditional music and dance are considered not trendy and popular enough. For instance, young adults are more fascinated by trending songs from social media, and they choose to learn trending dance from TikTok and Instagram rather than their traditional dance. It leads to the situation where fewer people are interested in learning and teaching traditional dance as they can’t earn enough money to provide for their life.
This essay showed that, due to technological innovation, there is no longer a need to keep learning old traditional writings. Also, more and more people are interested in trending songs and dance from social media while traditional music and dance are forgotten by many young people.
