Equality among the sexes is very crucial for effective and efficient running of a nation. A fraction of population hold a perspective that the equality between the sexes has already been acquired whereas others feel it is yet to be achieved . I would like to substantiate both the viewpoints in the imminent paragraphs which will lead to a reasonable inference.
To begin with, India being a democratic country offers right to equality as a primary right to every individual irrespective of caste, religion and predominately sex. Over the years , this has been enforced and implemented thoroughly and a sense of equality prevails among the citizens. Moreover, both men and women have equal rights and move shoulder to shoulder to one another. For instance, there are several renowned female personalities such as Pv Sindhu , Saina Nehwal , Mary Kom etc who have not only brought fame to the nation but also paved a way for women to excel their fields as males which have fostered a sense of equal ness among both the genders.
On the other hand, few people think that this goal is yet to be accomplished . In several unprivileged and rural areas, women are still considered inferior to men and are deprived of basic rights such as right to education and speech . In these areas , the patriarchal story is still into existence and women are suppressed and live in a constant constraint of their families. Additionally, women are merely considered to do household chores and they deeply long for a sense of liberty and equality so to live their life on their own terms.
To encapsulate , I personally corroborate the fact that we are yet to make a considerable progress in order to prevail equality among the genders. Although, one cannot neglect that a significant progress has been made but still the goal is not entirely triumphed. However, with constant effort and awareness , this evil of inequality can be eradicated from the society and this desired aim of oneness can be achieved in the forthcoming years.
