It is argued that teachers are more responsible than parents in two personal skills, such as intellectual and social development. I partly agree with this idea, because parents also should be reliable, whereas teachers can also affect their children.
On the one hand, every teacher has an impact on children, because not every student develops the intellectual and social skills that can be learned at school. In fact, nowadays, many parents do not spend time with their children, so pupils are required to develop their skills under the guidance of teachers. For instance, in the USA, some schools include specific subjects to improve students’ social and intellectual skills. As a result, we can see that many teenagers have well-developed skills in this country. Hence, if all schools provide some specific subjects about skills, students will be intellectually and socially grown.
On the other hand, parents also play a crucial role in children’s social and intellectual development. Improving these skills is more straightforward when it is taught by parents to children. Many students believe and follow their parents’ rules than teachers’, that’s why it is more convenient. For example, a high percentage of children in Uzbekistan learn and increase their social and intellectual skills from their parents. In addition, if children learned similar skills from their parents, they would have the same personalities in the future. Therefore, every youth should be educated by their parents, as it has a huge impact on their personal development, too.
In conclusion, I believe that both teachers’ and parents’ responsibilities are equally important to children. While teachers can teach them more in academic ways, parents educate them from their personal life experiences.
